The Ruins of Jervaulx

Ruins in the distance, within so much land,
Such a great building, just ruins do stand.
Plundered by the masses, so little left today,
Such a quiet place, romantic in a way.

Set with the dales, of Yorkshire we see,
Enchanting in its settings, lovely place to be.
The abbey in ruins, wild flowers found within,
A place to enjoy, from moment you begin.

An inspiration to find, from film to paint,
The poetry can flow, that nothing can taint.
Kept in great order, such a great walk,
The Abbey of Jervaulx, if stones could talk.
